Mullingar Based MGD Civil Engineering were shocked to discover that their Takeuchi TB175 excavator was stolen over the weekend.

The machine was stolen in Loughrey, Co Galway. Fortunately the machine was fitted with the Satrak Plant Security System.

When MGD discovered that the machine was stolen they contacted Satrak who were then able to ring the machine and find out it's exact location.

Satrak were working with the Gardai in Loughrea and were able to guide them to the stolen machine which had made it’s way to Enniskean just outside Bandon in Co Cork, Possibly the machine was being shipped out of the Country and was making its way to the ferry in Cork.

With the current economic climate plant theft is becoming more and more of a problem from the use stolen heavy plant machinery in ATM raids to stealing machinery for export.

MGD Civil Engineering were certainly glad that they had invested in the Satrak system, as were a Carlow civil engineering company who recovered a stolen JCB with the Satrak system earlier in the summer.
