Friday 5:02am: Plant hire firm owner Tony was woken by the beeping of his mobile phone "Kubota 373, tow away detected, 53mph". He headed downstairs made a cup of tea and sat at the computer. Within minutes he was able to see his digger moving along the A264.
Once the digger came to a stand still in a field 10 miles from the yard where it was stolen he called the police.
The police agreed to meet at the location of the stolen machine. Once at the field Tony used a printed copy of the maps off the Satrak system only to find a large bush where the system said the machines would be. With no sign of the machines, the customer decided to pull back the foliage and discovered it was actually freshly cut bracken under which the thieves had hidden his two Kubota diggers.
Friday 8:15am: Both Kubota KX008-3 were recovered and back at the customers yard ready to hire. Owner Tony said "The Satrak units guided me straight to the diggers and easily saved me £10,000".
